Issue 001 · April 2026
We’re building a place to back real people — with real money.
No equity. No loans. No VCs. Builders share their journeys publicly — the wins, the failures, the pivots — and backers earn 1.5–3× their money back from real revenue.

Why this exists
The builder economy has no infrastructure.
59 million Americans are building something — a newsletter, a SaaS product, a coaching practice, a studio. Most of them have revenue and audiences. None of them have a way to raise capital without giving up equity, taking loans, or begging VCs.
There is no public arena where builders share real journeys — the wins and the failures — while raising capital in real time. No standard legal agreement. No escrow. No reputation layer. The infrastructure for human capital deals simply doesn’t exist.
“I want to build a place where backing a real person is as simple as backing a Kickstarter — except the person keeps 100% of their company.”
How it works
Four steps. No gatekeepers.
You post a journey.
Share your story publicly — milestones, failures, pivots, revenue updates. Build trust with the community before you raise a dime.
You set PRPA terms.
Create a Project-Based Revenue Participation Agreement. Set your raise goal, revenue share percentage, and return cap. Backers participate with $500–$50K.
Backers fund.
Your journey is the pitch. Backers read your posts, watch your progress, and decide to back you. Funds held in escrow until you're funded.
You share revenue monthly until cap.
Pay backers a fixed percentage of revenue monthly until the cap is hit. No equity given up. No interest. Backers earn 1.5x–3x. Everyone wins.
The feed
Where every journey is public.
Builders share milestones, failures, and pivots as they happen. Backers post why they backed (or passed) on deals. No pitch decks, no curated highlight reels — just the real work.
The feed is live.
We just launched. Builder #001 is posting his journey right now — the wins, the rejections, everything. Come read along, or start posting your own.

For builders who are tired of asking permission.
You have revenue. You have an audience. You don’t have a way to raise $5K–$100K without giving up equity or taking debt. BackHumans lets you raise capital by sharing your journey publicly and letting backers participate in your revenue — not your company.
Your reputation compounds across deals. Failure posts build trust instead of destroying it. The transparency is the product.
For backers who want to back real people, not pitch decks.
You watch their journey unfold in real time. You read the failure posts. You decide to back someone because you’ve seen how they handle the worst month, not the best slide.
Earn 1.5–3× capped returns from real revenue, protected by escrow and Plaid-verified financials.
This is day one.
BackHumans is live with one builder and zero backers. That’s the point. We’re building this in public, starting from nothing, proving the model works before asking anyone else to trust it.
